A Big Guy Took My Ball!
This is the last of last week's haul of picture books.
Willems has fun with scale. I could spend hours studying these books for lessons in conveying emotion and creating animation. So clean, so spare. It's as if he just pulled key cels out of a cartoon, without the background paintings, and used them to compile a book.
When I tire of Elephant and Piggie, I will have tired of life.*
