I love this book, because of the primer within. For that matter, I'd expect anyone who enjoyed books as a child to love the primer, which is the most marvelous book ever. And then there's the steampunk of nanotech and New Victorians, and the crazy Heinlein subplot, and the girl, Nell, is a rather knowing nod to Dickens. Stephenson is all over the place in a really good way.
