My 10-year-old managed to get her read in before me. We both love Mirka, who is strong, and smart, and troublesome. I really enjoy the way Deutsch shows the normality of Mirka's orthodox community, and how that influences the characters, but not exactly the plot. This is some very grounded fantasy.
