League of Dragons: A Novel of Temeraire - Naomi Novik

League of Dragons: A Novel of Temeraire - Naomi Novik
  1. So I’ve been looking forward to this for a while. The British Regency gets a good run, but with just this little bit of feminism, off to the side, which everyone pretends doesn’t exist. The Napoleonic War/British Naval novels are well represented with tactics, logistics, and marvelous fight scenes. The dragons are cool: all the different types throughout the world, and all the different ways populations interact with them, and the whole being able to fly like a barnstormer, but with greater success in the take-offs and landings. And I really like how logical Temeraire is, and how different all the dragons are in temperament from one another. There wasn’t anything here that disappointed me, not one tiny thing.
