The Midwich Cuckoos - John Wyndham

The Midwich Cuckoos - John Wyndham
  1. The scariest scenarios to me are always the most ordinary ones, where it takes a good long time for anyone to realize that something is wrong, and what that something is. And what could it mean? And what should one do about it? Can one do anything about it? For some reason I think the Brits really excel at this, both in the writing and the filming (The Birds).

One of those classics well worth reading.
